September 10 Corhampton – Accident: At a cricket match on Corhampton Down on Saturday Mr Jack Newman, the well-known professional bowler (who is on a visit to this village) injured his finger from a fast ball by Col. Lawrence. Sir George Turner rendered first aid until Dr E C Penn was in attendance. Mr Newman has ruptured a blood vessel and will not be able to use his hand for a week or so.
September 24 Droxford – A cricket match between teams organised by Mr E Andrews and Mr Horace Clark was played on Corhampton Down on Saturday, Mr Andrew’s team winning by 40 runs.
December 10 Droxford – Golf: The monthly medal was played on Wednesday last week. Only five competed, the winner being Mr A G Withers with 116 less handicap 18, net 98.
