Presentation of the Trophy
A major Corhampton inter section challenge – Seniors V Juniors has been arranged by Senior Men’s Captain Stuart Goode. After speaking to Matt Tryhorn recently it was agreed to set in place an annual challenge match, 16 a side, Seniors V Juniors. The inaugural match was played on Friday 27th October 2023 and resulted in a win for the JUNIORS 5 & 3
Though this match hinged on the last game which the Juniors managed to par & win by 1 hole. An excellent day, dry in the main, and a well fought match. Well done Olivia Diment’s team of young golfers.
JUNIORS v. SENIORS COMPETITION
A little while ago now, then Captain Stuart Goode and Assistant Pro Matt Tryhorn decided it would be a good idea to introduce a new annual matchplay competition between the Juniors and the Seniors. A date was set, teams were picked, the Seniors donated a trophy and battle commenced on Friday 27th October 2023.
If you have been following reports of Junior comps this year, you will know that Matt has some very good and very successful junior golfers in his squad – and he made sure they were all playing!
Despite being up against such strong opposition, the gallant Seniors battled bravely and, in the end, it all came down to the last hole in the last match. Unfortunately, it didn’t go the Seniors way and we lost 5 matches to 3, but we had them worried!
Drinks and chips were bought for the winning team and then Stuart Goode performed his last duty as outgoing Seniors Captain, presenting the shield to outgoing Junior’s Captain, Olivia Diment.
