Welcome from Matt Tryhorn – The Junior Organiser
CAMBERLEY, ENGLAND – JUNE 12: Matthew Tryhorn of Corhampton Golf Club plays his first shot on the 1st tee during The Lombard Trophy South Qualifier at Camberley Heath Golf Club on June 12, 2018 in Camberley, England
The height of the school holidays sees our busiest schedule for tournaments. The prestigious Junior Championship is run in August and this year 13 Juniors participated, 8 played the 18 hole championship and 5 under 10 year olds played the inaugural 9 hole championship. Jamie Markwick was crowned junior champion for a second time with a great score of 69 (-2). Stevie Crozier-Hunt won the under 15s scratch Trophy. Olivia Diment won the Nett Trophy. Oli Moore won the under 10s scratch Trophy and Ewen Ogilvy the under 10s nett prize.
Jamie followed up his win by lifting the North Hants Junior Open title with a 6 under par round of 63 – beating Justin Rose’s course record (sadly due to a technicality Jamie didn’t get to keep it).
Olivia Diment secured the Paul Casey Order of Merit (with two events still to go).
Tournaments have continued into September and Sam Goodridge has found form to win the Shebab Oman Trophy beating Jamie Westwood on countback, both with a score of 35 points.
More will follow in the next edition.

Junior Section Committee Report June 2019
Committee
It is my pleasure to provide a report of the activities of the Junior section for the period April to June. It is so encouraging to once again report that the section continues to grow, we are continuing to attract a plethora of youngsters; the enthusiasm and support for the section provides me with a great sense of pride and achievement, we really are developing a talented pool of young people.
Our timetable of events for the juniors provides a mix of coaching and competition and as reported previously we have invested in the Golphin Kids programme. This programme is primarily aimed at the younger members who are new to the game. The juniors are using the Pathways for Kids coaching app and are making use of the junior clubs that are provided as part of the package (these clubs are specifically designed for young people and have larger than normal head sizes and weight/lengths thus making them easier to hit). The next stage of the programme will be to set up a series of targets, activities to practice and awards for those that achieve their goals. We will set this up once the groups are sorted. An exciting and innovative time ahead for Corhampton Juniors.

Junior Section Update by Matt Tryhorn
Corhampton’s junior squad go from strength to strength and fortunately their handicaps are tumbling down. Editor: I have had the pleasure of playing with several juniors in the past few weeks and do find them respectful and a pleasure to play with (just watching their ball striking – must be down to their tuition).
