Sheltering Hut at 13th Hole presented by Senior Men’s Section in Centenary Year 1991
Corhampton Veterans Vintage 1967…
Captain Mike Freeman, Centenary Veterans Captain
The Veterans Centenary Committee has concentrated on fund raising. The committee’s main aim is to donate sufficient funds to the club to build a shelter on the new extension to the course.
There is every possibility that the hut at the 13th tee has served its purpose so will be destined for cremation soon. Covid rules have changed so any number are allowed to attend the ceremony! It was originally presented to the Club by the then “Veterans Section” soon after 1992 when the new holes 12th to 15th were opened, The section was collecting together the donation money at the time of the Club Centenary in 1991 “The committee’s main aim is to donate sufficient funds to the club to build a shelter on the new extension to the course.” when Mike Freeman was the Veterans Section Captain. Our cartoonist Denny Carter was asked to mark this historic event by the current Senior Moments Editor. (Editors note-The name “Veterans Section” was changed to “Seniors Section” in 1996 when Norman Taylor was “Seniors Section” Captain.)
Sadly Mike passed away in March 2014
