Men vs Ladies match (under leadership of their captains)

Initiated:1954. Carved by John Newbury.
Purpose:‘Fun’ competition between members of the various club sections.
A team of men (led by the Club/Men’s captain) vs a team of ladies (led by the Ladies Section captain compete to avoid winning the trophy (a large wooden spoon).
Format:Format has varied over the years, as have the number of ‘equalisation’ shots allocated to the Ladies.
Agreed by negotiation between the Club (or Men’s section) captain and the Ladies Section captain.
Notes:Captains and Vice Captains out first. No entry fee or sweep.
